Planet Dog is proudly located in Maine. This time of year presents all new adventures for us to explore with our best friends, like cross country skiing, snow romps and snowshoeing. It also brings a few challenges – daily routines and walks become more exciting. Keeping our furry friends warm, safe and protecting their paws needs extra special attention.
We reached out to our friends at Kurgo, who specialize in all-weather gear and accessories for dogs, for some winter tips for us. Here are some of their suggestions:
- Provide safe access to your home so your dog can get in and out easily.
- If you are taking your dog with you on errands, keep them dry and warm and be mindful of how long you leave them in the car.
- Keep your dog’s nails short and trimmed in the winter.
- Consider a pair of boots for your pup. Boots can protect your dog’s feet from the elements and the salt and other harsh products used to treat roads and sidewalks.
